Grout
Grout is the material that highlights the ceramic tile pattern and fills the joints between the ceramic tiles. It comes in two basic categories:
1. Cement-based (most commonly used are dry-set grouts, latex-Portland cement grout and sand-Portland cement grout)
2. Epoxy-based (chemical-resistant and must be used with epoxy adhesives) A good rule of thumb is if you use a latex-Portland cement mortar, use a latex-Portland cement grout. If you install tile with an epoxy mortar, use an epoxy grout.
As for color, that's a purely personal choice. Grouts come in a wide variety of colors that can be used to coordinate or contrast with your ceramic tile color. Mildew and stain-resistant grouts are also available. If you are unsure, ask your Traditions in Tile salesperson for help.
